Account Manager, Commercial Insurance

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Commercial Lines Account Manager at Waypoint, you’ll play a pivotal role in our team, leveraging
your solid understanding of commercial lines products and exceptional customer service skills. Your

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Commercial Technical Assistants, and fellow Account
    Managers to ensure seamless teamwork.
  • Organize weekly meetings with Account Executives and/or Commercial Technical Assistants as
    needed.
  • Review renewal lists to ensure timely completion of pre-renewals.
  • Handle pre-renewals, auto renewals, and remarketing efforts, coordinating with Account
    Executives and Commercial Technical Assistants for effective renewal strategies.
  • Provide expert insurance advice and recommend suitable coverage options.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of company risk appetite.
  • Stay informed about binding authorities, including rating, and collaborate with Commercial
    Technical Assistants to issue policies.
  • Prepare pre-renewals, process new applications, and issue certificates (with Commercial Technical
    Assistants’ support for certificates).
  • Create comprehensive market submissions, with guidance from Account Executives.
  • Collaborate with underwriting to negotiate rating, terms, and conditions for new business and
    renewals.
  • Keep EPIC organized and up to date with relevant correspondence.
  • Serve as an Account Executive for smaller accounts.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and correspond with commercial insurance underwriters.
  • Attend industry and broker functions to enhance networking and industry awareness.
  • Provide support to Commercial Technical Assistants and Account Executives as required.
  • Assist with formatting client documents, including letters, proposals, and emails.
  • Generate monthly reports on team new business sales and targets.
  • Handle claim submissions and follow-up processes.
  • Assist Account Executives in maintaining customer relations and contacts.
  • Collaborate with other departments and functions as necessary.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to deadlines.
  • Oversee team sales targets, reporting on progress, results, and opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Level 2 BC Insurance License
  • Possess refined interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships
    with clients and colleagues, driven by your commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring interactions are clear and
    concise.
  • Exhibit proficiency in working within a team environment and managing diverse tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Prior experience in commercial lines or related fields is an asset.
