Manager, Human Resources

Location: Vancouver, BC

Reporting to: Director, Human Resources

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Human Resources will take the leadership role in leading the HR function for assigned
client groups within Waypoint and/or with other broker partners in British Columbia as a part of
Navacord. The Manager, Human Resources will lead the Auto client group for Waypoint but may be
asked to take on other departments or broker partners as required by Waypoint or Navacord. The
Manager, Human Resources will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including talent
management, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement. They will
serve as strategic partner while working with key leaders to support and promote the strategic goals of
the HR practice within the organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who
are passionate about human resources, have a strong background in HR, and thrive in an environment
of building and continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work in-office based on the needs of the role and/or as
required be management. Preference will be given to candidates that can work hybrid in Vancouver.
Travel to other locations within British Columbia may be required for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Strategy & Roadmap

  • Identify, lead and develop HR practices to support the unique needs of the assigned client group
    and/or broker partner.
  • Support in HR due diligence and integration of new broker partners for M&A activity.
  • Partner with the VP, HR and Director, HR to develop, build and execute on the HR strategic
    roadmap for the assigned client group and/or broker partner.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to strategically assess and fulfill staffing needs, ensuring
    alignment with the workforce planning goals of the business.
  • Partner and lead with other HR partners across Navacord in national initiatives.

HR Advisory

  • Provide comprehensive human resources support to employees and managers, addressing
    inquiries and resolving issues related to the employee life-cycle.
  • Guide and support employees through various HR processes, ensuring adherence to company
    policies and legal compliance.
  • Serve as a key resource for managers on HR-related matters, offering advice and coaching on
    performance management, conflict resolution, and employee development.
  • Prepare employment agreements.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including performance concerns, disciplinary
    actions, and workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
  • Participate in investigations with regard to employee complaints and incidents, documenting
    findings and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Support performance management process, including performance reviews and performance
    improvement plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HR Advisor and HR Coordinator, ensuring effective execution
    of daily HR operations in alignment with departmental goals.

HR Programs & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, keeping up-to-date with
    changes in legislation and HR best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives, including
    employee engagement activities, training and development programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including employee data, performance evaluations,
    and other relevant documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings to support events.
  • Familiar with design and presentation tools such as Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite, and
    more.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling
    content.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A creative mindset with an eye for aesthetics and consistency.
  • Is independent, self-motivated, and proactive, but also able to work in a collaborative team.
  • Eagerness to learn about the business/industry and grow from within.
