Account Executive, Commercial Lines

Reporting to: Director of Commercial Insurance

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Commercial Lines Account Executive at Waypoint, you are a seasoned insurance professional with
a strong grasp of insurance sales and commercial lines products. Your dynamic and inquisitive nature
drives you to challenge the status quo, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of industry trends.
You possess a natural talent for building and maintaining relationships, placing client needs at the core
of your approach. Your adept business development and closing skills set you apart, making you a go-to
expert in the realm of general insurance. Your commitment to exceptional communication and

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with your team to implement Waypoint’s sales strategies.
  • Take ownership of achieving targets related to new business acquisition, retention, execution, and
    profitability.
  • Coordinate your sales efforts in alignment with your team’s goals.
  • If required, manage an existing book of house accounts.
  • Enter all opportunities into EPIC and provide weekly reports on your progress.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline by qualifying leads and diligently following up to cultivate your book of
    business.
  • Develop and present an annual Sales Strategy Plan.
  • Contribute by writing five content pieces per year.
  • Continuously enhance your professional and technical knowledge of the insurance industry and its
    peripheral businesses.
  • Foster strong relationships with commercial insurance underwriters through effective
    communication.
  • Attend relevant industry and broker functions as necessary.
  • Provide support to Commercial Lines Technical Assistants and Account Managers as needed.
  • Assist in formatting client documents, including letters, proposals, and emails, as agreed upon with
    the Account Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation by saving correspondence in EPIC, following arrangements with the
    Account Manager.
  • Prioritize effective communication by including Account Managers on all client correspondence to
    promote a team-oriented approach.
  • Offer marketing support to enhance client engagement.
  • Prepare client proposals with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Leverage your computer proficiency to excel in a paperless work environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities by managing multiple files simultaneously.
  • Consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Efficiently manage accounts receivable, activities, and client responses in accordance with
    Waypoint’s policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Level 2 BC Insurance License
  • Building and nurturing relationships is second nature to you.
  • Your innate curiosity enables you to deeply comprehend your clients’ businesses and needs,
    extending beyond insurance coverage.
  • While you thrive in a collaborative team environment, you are equally self -motivated and capable
    of independent work.
  • Your excellent verbal and written communication skills empower you to effectively convey
    complex concepts.
